Ohatchee, AL – On the afternoon of August 10th, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from an individual reporting a double shooting. The call, made by Tyler Ferguson, led Sheriff Matthew Wade and deputies to a residence on Taylor Road in Ohatchee.
Upon arrival, deputies detained Tyler Ferguson, who lived at the residence. Inside the home, they found Randall Ferguson deceased from a gunshot wound. During a sweep of the property, deputies also discovered Debbie Ferguson on the back porch with a gunshot wound. She was transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center in critical condition but later died from her injuries.
Tyler Ferguson, the son of the victims, has been taken into custody and is facing charges related to the deaths.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident. Sheriff Wade acknowledged the assistance of Piedmont EMS and the Ohatchee Police Department in responding to the scene.
