Jacksonville, AL – As March unfolds, the 22nd Annual Economic Forum, an event hosted by the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center in collaboration with the Jacksonville State University College of Business & Industry is gearing up. This annual gathering, scheduled for March 1st from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at Merrill Hall, promises to be a beacon of knowledge, offering a comprehensive exploration of economic trends and insights.

The morning will commence with a networking session at 7:30 am, providing attendees with an opportunity to connect over refreshments before delving into the main program at 8 am. The venue, Merrill Hall at Jacksonville State University, serves as the perfect backdrop for this knowledge-sharing event, creating an environment conducive to learning and collaboration.

Chamber members can participate free of charge, emphasizing the Chamber’s commitment to providing value to its members. For non-Chamber members, the ticket cost is a nominal $15.

Leading the event is Dr. Mark Hearn, a faculty member of Jacksonville State University, in conjunction with JSU’s Center for Economic Development and Business Research. Dr. Hearn’s expertise ensures a program that is not only insightful but also academically robust, setting the stage for a thought-provoking exploration of economic landscapes.

A highlight of the forum is the guest speaker, Mr. Jay Culver, Managing Director of Rates & Commodity Risk Management at Regions Bank. Boasting over 25 years of experience in financial risk management, Mr. Culver’s presentation is anticipated to be a masterclass in understanding and navigating the intricacies of interest rates, commodities, and foreign exchange. His diverse background, including roles at Bank of America and Wachovia Corporation, underscores the depth of his knowledge.

Hailing from Aurora, NY, Mr. Culver holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Tulane University. Additionally, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a credential that adds an extra layer of authority to his insights.
