Vehicular Access Restored on Jax State’s Trustee Circle as Pedestrian Safety Upgrades Continue

Pedestrian Safety Improvement Update

Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University has reopened vehicular access to Trustee Circle, though construction efforts for a multi-phase pedestrian safety project will continue in the area through the remainder of the fall semester. As part of JSU’s ongoing safety initiatives, adjustments in walking and driving patterns are expected as the transformation advances.

The university urges both drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution around Trustee Circle and to be mindful of new signage and barricades. In line with the university’s “BeLikeCocky” campaign, the campus community is encouraged to prioritize safety and plan routes carefully to ensure timely arrival at destinations.

JSU’s Department of Public Safety remains dedicated to safeguarding students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Campus members are advised to report suspicious activity or seek assistance via the Cocky Watch app or by calling 256-782-5050.
