Weaver, AL – The city of Weaver has announced a series of movie nights. They are using the tag line “Catch Weaver Fever.” There are currently four events planned to take place in the city park behind city hall. Each event will have different activities, but all will conclude with a family friendly movie starting at 8:00 pm. Mayor Clendenning stressed that he wanted to use Weaver’s park to showcase that Weaver has a lot to offer families around Calhoun County.
The first event on July 15th will include inflatables, a few food trucks, extended hours for the splash pad, and of course as always access to the city’s disc golf course, playground, and other park amenities. The conclusion will be a movie to be shown on the outdoor screen. The second event is scheduled for July 29th and will start with a city sponsored disc golf tournament and be what the Mayor described as a “free day” with snow cones and hotdogs sponsored by the city and local organizations. The third date is scheduled for August 12th and is shaping up to be a music themed day with food trucks and inflatables before the movie. The fourth and final event is August 26th and is scheduled to be a full blown food truck festival with more then ten trucks coming in before the movie. While the Mayor is excited about these summer events, he hinted that he hopes to use the park for more events throughout the year.
