On Wednesday evening at approximately 8:00 pm the Weaver Police Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of Astor Ave to investigate a possible shooting. Upon arrival officers located a 26 year old, black, male, who sustained an injury from being grazed by a single bullet. Medics were called in to assist the victim, but he refused to be transported to the hospital.
During the on-scene investigation officers learned the identity of the suspect and that he had fled the scene in a vehicle after firing the weapon. Police Chief Bush advised that the investigation is still ongoing, and an arrest is pending. Names of the suspect and victim have been intentionally kept confidential as this is still an active case.
