We are proud to have officially launched The Jacksonville Journal which is located at www.jvillestrong.com. This e-news site is specifically designed with the City of Jacksonville in mind. Each article and news story will directly reflect what is happening around this small “Big” town.
Jacksonville has a lot of news, activities, and special events that occur on a regular basis and we will strive to make sure that each of our readers are able to locate the information that may make life a little easier. As we grow our information flow will increase as well to ensure you have the most current information available.
There has been some speculation as to what type of news will be presented by this outlet and we wanted to take a moment to explain our position. The Jacksonville Journal will be reporting the news without any type of spin or personal agenda. This outlet will be reminiscent of the old way of reporting where only the facts will be listed to allow the reader to come up with there own conclusions. The only exception will be our opinions page where residents can write into us and will post various opinions about current events around Jacksonville.
Many of you will notice that there is no subscription requirement to click through the various sections of the website. The Jacksonville Journal does not now and will never charge readers for access to their own local news. We will utilize the local business advertisers and classified ads to sustain our site and that is something we are very proud of.
Our web address was chosen to honor the residents and business owners that survived the tornado on March 19, 2018. The phrase Jville Strong was first noticed when a local business owner, Jim Watson of Traffic Signs, Inc., began setting out small yard signs with this motto. The Jacksonville Journal wanted to select a name That represents the City in which we named our media outlet after.
We look forward to serving you and hope to hear from anyone that would like to voice an opinion or share a thought.
