Anniston, AL – A Free Fishing Clinic is coming to West Anniston, offering local children a chance to learn the basics of fishing while fostering a deeper connection with the outdoors. Hosted by Coosa Riverkeeper, in partnership with the West Anniston Foundation, the clinic will take place on Wednesday, September 18th, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Lake Yahou Park, located at 370 Lake Yahou Road in Anniston.
The clinic, aimed at children ages 5 to 18, will teach participants essential fishing skills, including casting, catching, and identifying fish. The event will offer starter fishing kits and fishing poles to help young anglers kickstart their fishing journey on the Coosa River.
Organizers encourage parents to stay throughout the event. However, if a parent cannot remain, contact information will be collected, and they will be notified when to return for pickup. In case of inclement weather, participants will be contacted with rescheduling details.
The clinic is free to attend, and participants are not required to bring any fishing gear. For more information about the clinic, families can visit CoosaRiver.org or contact Quinn at [email protected].
