Woodstock 5k and Kidstock 1K Set to Make a Mark in Anniston

Anniston, AL –Saturday, August 6th the Woodstock 5K will be held from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. The Anniston Runners Club (ARC) and their members invite you to their premier annual event- The Historic Woodstock 5K and Kidstock 1K! This years 2022 race has been honored as the RRCA Alabama State 5K Championship. Woodstock is a fun, healthy, community event where approximately 1000 runners and walkers come to shake their tail feathers! Go ahead and mark your calendar for August 6, 2022 for the oldest footrace in the southeast!

  • $2.00 Discount for ARC Members.  AND for several Alabama Running Clubs that are RunSign Up members.  
  • Packet pickup and on-site registration at Anniston High School in the Kilby House
  • Fri. packet pickup: August 5, 2022, 12:00 am-6:00 pm 
  • Sat. packet pickup: Aug. 6, 2022, 6:30 am-7:00 am
  • Finishing Medals awarded to Individuals that complete the 5K Race.  Get your medal at the finish line.

Cash prizes and medals will be awarded to the following:

• 1st Pl. Overall M/F……………………………..$500/each – THE CASH is BACK!
• 2nd Pl. Overall M/F…………………………….$200/each
• 3rd Pl. Overall M/F……………………………..$100/each
• 1st Pl. Masters M/F (40+)……………………$50/each
• 1st Pl. Grandmasters M/F (50+)…………..$50/each
• 1st Pl. Senior Grandmasters M/F (60+)…$50/each

• An extra $500 for the INDIVIDUAL with the best time that breaks the course record.

RRCA Championship medals will be given to the top three finishers, male and female, in each age category:  There is no double dipping on awards for overall winners.

Recipients must be present, or arrange for someone to pick up their award(s) at the Awards Ceremony.  

• Results/awards are based on chip time (not gun time). Overall winners will not be eligible for age-group awards. Team participants will still be eligible for overall and age-group awards. 

Kidstock 1K:
Awards will be given in the following areas:

• Overall 1st •2nd •3rd male and female
• Top 3 boys and girls in age groups: 1-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14

Woodstock 2022 T-Shirt Design Contest:  The winner is Dan Seymour from Outer Limits Arts & Media.  His design will be featured on the 2022 Woodstock Race shirt.
WOODSTOCK TEAM CHALLENGE:
The team challenge category is back by popular demand! In order to participate in the team challenge you must register online at Run SignUp.
No exceptions.

Teams must be entered by July 31, 2022. 
• The team captain MUST create the team first before anyone else can register for that team.   
• TEAM WITH THE MOST PARTICIPANTS: 300.00 CASH PRIZE
• TEAM WITH THE MOST TEAM SPIRIT: Trophy 
Dress up, get creative, and show us your team spirit! We’ll choose the grooviest team to award with a super shiny trophy!  
• FASTEST MALE, FEMALE, & CO-ED TEAM: Trophy 
The fastest all male team, fastest all female team, and fastest co-ed team will all be awarded with a trophy. 
Team scoring based on 5 fastest times for your team finish. A coed team must have at least 2 female times and a minimum of 1 male time.
Example: If your coed team has 10 members and you have 5 female team members that have faster times than any male member, the slowest female time is not considered in scoring and the first male member’s time is used in the team calculation. The same for males, we will use only the 3 fastest male times, the next 2 times to be used in the calculation must be female.
COURSE:

The Woodstock 5K course is a USATF certified course. Beginning on Woodstock Avenue in front of Anniston High School, the course runs through the historic neighborhoods of Anniston, Alabama. 

WATERSTOPS:

There are two water stops on the course: Mile 1 and Mile 2. Only water will be provided on the course and at the finish line.  Post race snacks will be provided at the Kilby House after the race.  Each runner will be given a snack bag by showing their race bib.  

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

 

Friday, August 5: 

12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Packet Pickup – Anniston High School (1301 Woodstock Ave Anniston, AL 36207) – Kilby House in middle of Campus.

We recommend you pick up your shirt and bib on this day – Race Day is hectic and if you wait until race morning you may have to wait in long lines!

Other particpates are allowed to pick up your packet

To make the process faster, please get your bib number before standing in line. You will be emailed a final confirmation with your Bib number for easy access.  Numbers will also be posted on the wall outside the Kilby House, so you can look them up before approaching the packet pickup desk. 

Saturday, August 6th – Race Day!

6:30 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. – Last chance to pick up shirts and bibs at the Kilby House
7:15 a.m. – Call to the start Line
7:30 a.m. – Woodstock 5K start!
9:00 a.m. – Kidstock 1 Mile Run/Walk Start
10:00 a.m. – Awards ceremony in the Anniston auditorium.

Once you finish running, pick up your snack bag in the Kilby House and join us in the courtyard for vendors and fellowship.
