Calhoun County, AL – The World Changers program is now accepting applications in both Anniston and Oxford, offering qualifying homeowners assistance with select exterior home repair projects through volunteer-led construction efforts.
Anniston Applications
In Anniston, the World Changers Home Repair Program will accept applications from Wednesday, January 21, 2026, through Friday, February 27, 2026.
Eligible services in Anniston include:

Deck and porch repair

Wheelchair ramp installation

Exterior painting
The program does not include interior work or major structural repairs. Roof work is also no longer offered due to changes in liability insurance coverage.
Applicants must:

Own and occupy the home as their primary residence

Live within Anniston city limits

Reside in a one-story home
Applications are available at Anniston City Hall, by mail upon request, or online through the City of Anniston’s Community Development webpage. Final project selections will be made by World Changers.
Oxford Applications
The City of Oxford is also accepting applications for its World Changers program, which provides similar volunteer-based exterior home repairs.
Eligible projects in Oxford include:

Deck repair or replacement

Handicap ramp installation

Exterior painting

Vinyl siding
To be considered, applicants must:

Reside within Oxford city limits

Complete and return the application by March 23, 2026

Provide proof of income

Provide proof of homeownership
Applications are available at the Oxford City Clerk’s Office at Oxford City Hall, located at 145 Hamric Drive East. Applications submitted without the required documentation will not be considered.
Final home selections are made at the sole discretion of World Changers. Construction for Oxford projects is scheduled to take place July 14–17, 2026.
Residents in both cities are encouraged to review application requirements carefully and submit all required materials by the applicable deadlines.
