The English department’s “Write, Southerners!” reading series will continue this spring with three visiting writers. First up this week is Maurice Carlos Ruffin, author of “Ones Who Don’t Say They Love You” and the New York Times Editor’s Choice novel “We Cast a Shadow.” He will read from his work and answer questions on Feb. 23, 4:30 p.m., in Merrill Hall’s auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
Mark your calendar for the entire series this spring. On March 9, the poet laureate of Alabama, Ashley M. Jones, will visit campus. On April 20, poet Elijah Rushing Hayes – editor of Biscuit Hill Journal – will round out the series. All events take place at 4:30 p.m. in Merrill Hall Auditorium.
