Around noon this afternoon Kitty Stone Elementary School was placed on a soft lock down. The School Resource Officer heard that other Jacksonville police officers were being dispatched to the area of James Hopkins Rd regarding a possible domestic family issue.
We spoke to Chief of Police Tommy Thompson who advised the students were never in any type of danger and the soft lock down was only done as a safety precaution.
The soft lock down was ended when the responding officers resolved the call at the residence and normal schedules have resumed.
