Wellborn Event

Anniston, AL – Despite an overcast sky and the looming threat of storms, the 2nd Annual Walter Wellborn Summerfest turned out to be a resounding success this past Saturday. Held at Wellborn Park in Anniston, the event drew community members for a day filled with excitement and camaraderie, all while raising much-needed funds for the Wellborn High School Marching Highlander Band.

Starting at 10 AM, with early bird car registration kicking off at 9 AM, the park at 3888 Eulaton Rd buzzed with activity. The event featured a massive car display, but that was just one part of the festivities. The air was filled with the nostalgic sounds of oldies music, setting a lively backdrop for the day’s events.

Families and visitors of all ages enjoyed a variety of attractions, including food trucks serving up delicious eats, bouncy houses for the kids, and numerous door prizes. One of the highlights was the 50/50 giveaway, which added an element of suspense and excitement to the day.

The community showed up in force, with admission by donation, demonstrating their support for the local high school band. This generous spirit was the driving force behind the event’s success, ensuring that the Marching Highlander Band received the financial support it needs to continue its programs.

Vendors also played a key role, showcasing a diverse array of products and services. The 2nd Annual Walter Wellborn Summerfest not only provided a fun-filled day but also made a significant impact on the Wellborn High School Marching Highlander Band, ensuring they march on with pride.
