Ohatchee Council Approves Resolution to Begin Negotiations With O’Reilly Auto Parts

Ohatchee, AL – The Town of Ohatchee has approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Todd Eubanks to enter negotiations with O’Reilly Auto Parts regarding the potential purchase of approximately 1.25 acres of town-owned property adjacent to Town Hall.

During the May 5, 2026, Ohatchee Town Council meeting, council members considered Resolution No. 26-05-01, which would allow the town to negotiate with O’Reilly Auto Parts for the proposed land sale at a purchase price of $250,000.

According to documents included in the meeting packet, the property is located at 7803 AL Highway 77 in Ohatchee and consists of approximately 1.25 acres. The proposal identifies the buyer as O’Reilly Automotive Stores, Inc.

The letter of intent states that O’Reilly would provide a $10,000 earnest money deposit upon execution of a purchase contract, with the deposit being applied toward the purchase price. The agreement also outlines a due diligence period allowing the company time for inspections, permitting, and governmental approvals connected to the proposed retail development.

Documents further note that the closing would occur no later than 30 days following the end of the approvals period. The letter also specifies that the agreement is non-binding until a final purchase contract is executed by both parties.

The resolution approved by the council states that the Town of Ohatchee wishes “to support economic development in the area to the betterment of its citizens’ standard of living” and recognizes “the need for infrastructure within the Town limits.”
