Gadsden State’s Cardinal Commit Orientation Program Scheduled for New Students

Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College will host its Cardinal Commit summer orientation program for new students throughout June, July, and August across multiple campuses in northeast Alabama.

The orientation program is designed to assist incoming students with enrollment and connect them with campus resources intended to support student success and college completion.

“Our Cardinal Commit events are designed to give incoming students a confident, hands-on start to their college journey,” said Cody Beck, Director of Enrollment Services. “During these sessions, our team will walk students through essential tools like the MyGadsdenState student portal, help them review their student accounts, guide them through course registration, and introduce them to the campus environment. It’s all about making sure every student feels prepared, supported, and excited for their first day at Gadsden State.”

Multiple orientation sessions are scheduled across the college’s campuses:

  • June 18 – Ayers Campus in Anniston
  • July 8 – Cherokee Campus in Centre
  • July 9 – East Broad Campus in Gadsden (Technical Programs only)
  • July 16, July 21, July 23, and July 29 – East Broad Campus in Gadsden
  • August 1 – Saturday session at the East Broad Campus

Each Cardinal Commit session will begin with presentations covering the MyGadsdenState student portal and financial aid information. Students will then break into groups to work with advising staff on registering for fall semester classes.

Additional opportunities during the orientation include learning about academic programs and student services, obtaining student identification cards, and receiving parking decals.

Two sessions will be offered on each scheduled date at 8:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Check-in will begin 30 minutes before each session.

“All of our employees look forward to seeing our new students on campus during Cardinal Commit and helping them prepare to excel at college,” Beck said.

Students can register for a session through Gadsden State Cardinal Commit Registration. Applications to the college can be completed through Gadsden State Admissions.
