M&H Valve Earns McWane’s Top Safety and Environmental Award for Fourth Consecutive Year

M&H Valve Anniston Manufacturer Awarded Highest EHS Honor Among McWane Companies

ANNISTON, AL — M&H Valve, a longtime manufacturer in Anniston, has been recognized with McWane’s highest environmental, health and safety honor for the fourth consecutive year.

McWane announced on June 3 that M&H Valve received the Screaming Eagle Award, an annual recognition presented to the McWane company demonstrating the strongest commitment to workplace safety, environmental stewardship and continuous improvement. The 2026 award marks the seventh time overall that M&H Valve has earned the distinction.

According to McWane, M&H Valve recorded a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of 0.27 in 2025. The company noted that the foundry industry average is 5.5, based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. TRIR is a standard metric used to measure workplace injuries and illnesses, reflecting the number of OSHA-recordable incidents per 100 full-time employees during a one-year period.

Company officials said the achievement reflects years of continuous improvement and a workplace culture centered on safety, accountability and teamwork.

“We have an unwavering desire to exemplify The McWane Way in all we do,” said M&H Valve General Manager Olivier Marietta. “Over time, we have developed a culture entrenched in teamwork that holds each other accountable to our established standard. This is essential not only in sustaining performance but also improving upon it.”

To commemorate the achievement, M&H Valve hosted a plant-wide celebration recognizing employees for their contributions to workplace safety and operational excellence. Team members attended a catered lunch and were joined by McWane executives who expressed appreciation for their efforts.

McWane Environmental, Health and Safety Vice President Carl Raycroft emphasized the role employees play in maintaining the company’s safety culture.

“These team members make a choice to collaborate and support each other every day regarding safety, relentlessly ensuring every employee leaves the jobsite in the same condition – all while protecting the environment and neighboring communities,” Raycroft said.

Founded in New York City in 1854, M&H Valve relocated to Anniston in 1925 and became part of McWane in 1984. The company manufactures resilient valves and fire hydrants used in municipal water distribution systems and water and wastewater treatment facilities. M&H Valve employs more than 300 people and serves customers across all 50 states through established waterworks distributors.

McWane Industries employs more than 6,000 team members worldwide and manufactures a range of infrastructure, fire protection and plumbing products. The company states that its operations emphasize safe manufacturing practices and environmental responsibility while supporting communities where employees live and work.
