Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating recent property crimes and is calling on the public for help. By encouraging community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to improve public safety and hold those accountable for these criminal activities.
Property Crime: The Sheriff’s Office is seeking aid in a reported theft of property on or about June 11. A Calhoun County Deputy responded to a home on Clara Day Dr. in Alexandria, where a woman reported theft of various items. The woman explained that her father owned the home and that he reported to her that his Jeep, along with an unknown model bass boat and a $20,000 Rolex watch had gone missing from the property.
Catch of the Week: The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Ohatchee with the intention of serving a warrant for one person’s arrest when they identified a different person who also had a warrant for his arrest and was identified by a distinctive tattoo. The man, who identified himself as Timothy Shuler, was later confirmed to be Timothy Shuler’s brother, Waylon Shuler after deputies identified him by a “barcode” tattoo on his right bicep. When confronted with this information, Shuler admitted to using his brother’s identity because he “did not want to go to jail.” He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with Obstruction of Justice.
