JACKSONVILLE — Every time Jamil Williams broke behind Eastern Kentucky’s secondary Saturday, it was like he just appeared out of a portal from … somewhere.
Every time he motioned across the line of scrimmage, caught a Caden Creel touch pass and outran the Colonels to the corner for one of his four touchdown receptions, it’s like he flashed from an otherworldly portal.
Now you see him, and now he’s gone.
Well, Williams did come through a portal to Jax State. His otherworldly place was Division II Albany State.
He and Creel made Jax State’s passing game look like something unseeen in years on Burgess-Snow Field as the Gamecocks’ handled and old Ohio Valley Conference rival 49-7.
