MONTGOMERY, AL. — Alabama residents who plan to vote in the Nov. 3, 2026, General Election have until Monday, Oct. 19, to register to vote, according to Secretary of State Wes Allen.
Allen is encouraging eligible voters to register or confirm their existing registration information before the deadline.
“I encourage all eligible Alabamians to register to vote or verify their voter registration status ahead of the General Election in November,” Allen said. “Take the time now to make sure you are registered, informed, and ready to vote on November 3.”
Eligible residents can register electronically through the Alabama Secretary of State’s voter registration portal. Paper voter registration forms may also be submitted in person or by mail to the voter’s local Board of Registrars.

To be eligible to vote in Alabama, a person must be a U.S. citizen, reside in Alabama and be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day. State law also includes eligibility restrictions related to certain felony convictions and court determinations of mental incompetence.
Registered voters can check their registration status and polling information through the state’s online voter information portal.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voters are required to present an acceptable form of photo identification when voting at a polling place or by absentee ballot.
Unofficial statewide election results will be posted through the Alabama Secretary of State’s election website as results are reported.
