Calhoun County, AL – Here is a quick look at the boys competition in today’s Calhoun County Track and Field Championships at Choccolocco Park

Editor’s Note: The Calhoun County Track & Field Championships are today at Choccolocco Park. Oxford’s boys and girls are defending champions. Here is a look at today’s events:

4x800O Relay – Oxford (Evan Somers, Noah George, Case Payne, D.K. Wilson) took first place in 8:36.13, followed by Anniston in 8:41.86 and Piedmont in 8:56.25.

110m Hurdles – Weaver’s Keyshawn Allen (15.71) wins, followed by, Oxford’s Christian Gibson (16.16) and Kendrick Croft (16.51).

100m – After a misfire forced a restart, Anniston’s Jayden “J-Money” Lewis, an Auburn commit in football, finished first in 11:16. In second was Oxford’s Latreveon Figgers (11.31), and Oxford’s Antonio Hicks (11.32) was third.

1,600m – Oxford took all three medal positions. ‘Noah George won in  4:42.00, followed by Evan Somers (4:46.91) and Isaac Williams (4:46.97).

Javelin – Oxford’s Darrell Gooden throws 154-09 to take gold. Wellborn’s Grayson Johnson (144-04) was second, followed by Alexandria’s Caleb McCain (137-08).

4x100m – Oxford (Latreveon Figgers, Antonio Hicks, Cedric Twyman and Ashton Mitchell) dominates in 42.24, followed by second-place Anniston (43.19) and Jacksonville (43.18).

Long jump – Anniston’s Malachi Taylor flies 23-10, followed by Anniston’s Javen Croft (22-3.5), who and Oxford’s DeAndre Archie (22-1).

400m – Anniston’s Keddrick Jordan (50.342) won, followed by Oxford’s D.K. Wilson (50.347). Annston’s Jayden Heard (51.73) was third.

300m Hurdles – Tyshaun Cameron gets Jacksonville a gold medal in 42.76. Weaver takes silver and bronze with Keshawn Allen (42.77) and Kaden Gooden (43.97).

200m – There goes that man again, with Anniston’s Jayden Lewis winning in 22.54. Oxford’s Antonio Hicks (22.93) takes silver, and Oxford’s Cedric Twyman (23.17) gets bronze.

Here is a quick look at the boys competition in today’s Calhoun County Track and Field Championships at Choccolocco Park

4×800 Relay – Oxford (Emerson Maniscalco, Aubrey Williford, Shaniya Calloway, Katie Keur) won in 10:46.64, followed by Jacksonville (11:17.84) and Alexandria (11:23.00).

100m Hurdles – Oxford’s Chaci Whitfield (16.35) won, followed by Pleasant Valley’s Ella Parris (19.00) and Alexandria’s Anna Beth Stewart (19.05).

100m – Oxford’s Keziah Mickler (12.92) is first, followed by Anniston’s Ga’bryle Roberts (13.5) and Anniston’s Christyunna Reed (13.54).

1600m – Oxford’s Katie Keur (5:15.22) takes first. White Plains’ Maddyn Conn (5:22.60) took second, and Alexandria’s JoJo Watson (5:52.97) was third.

4x100m – Anniston (50.09) wins, followed by Oxford (51.61) and Weaver (52.67).

400m – Oxfod’s Keziah Mickler (1:01.06) won, followed by Alexandria’s Jordyn Walker (1:01.74) and Pleasant Valley’s Ella Parris (1:03.07).

800m – Oxford’s Katie Keur continues her distance dominance on the day, winning in 2:23.10. White Plains’ Maddyn Conn (2:29.12) was second, followed by Anniston’s Liberty Lewis (2:39.38).

300m Hurdles – Oxford’s Chaci Whitfield wins again, finishing in 48.09. Also taking medals were Pleasant Valley’s Ella Parris (51.21) and Alexandria’s Lanazaha Lee (53.35).

200m – Oxford’s Keziah Mickler is having a day. She wins again, in 26.49. Anniston’s Ga’bryle Roberts takes second in 27.44, and Anniston’s Christiyunna Reed (27.54) is third.

Javelin – Ohatchee’s Jorda Crook is on the board with a winning throw of 105-07. Ohatchee’s Mia Waters takes silver at 103-01, and Alexandria’s Tyasha Hunt (102-01) takes bronze.

Long jump – Alexandria’s Jordyn Walker flies 17-03.25 for the victory. Oxford’s Reygan White (16-01.75) took second, and Donoho’s Estella Connell (15-09.50) was third.

Shot put – Ohatchee’s Jorda Crook gets her second gold of the day, throwing 34-04. Alexandria’s Mariah Munford (32-06) takes silver, and Oxford’s Gabby Lindsey (31-04) takes bronze.

3,200m – Katie Keur gets the distance sweep on the day, winning in 11:41.83. Based on XPress Timing records, she set meet marks in all three individual events. White Plains’ Maddyn Conn was second in 12:07.52, and Oxford’s Emerson Maniscalco (13:02.46) was third. [read more sports stories…]
