OXFORD, AL — House Counseling officially opened its new Oxford office at 231 Choccolocco Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 30, 2025. The event, hosted by Historic Main Street Oxford, marked a milestone for the growing mental health practice, which offers a wide range of counseling services to the community.
Founded by licensed counselor Anjuli Thompson, House Counseling originally began in Jacksonville before expanding to Oxford to meet increasing demand. The new location offers individual and family counseling services, addressing issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD/ADD, and stress management. The practice also provides assessments, APOSTC new hire evaluations, EMDR therapy, play therapy, and professional consultations.
“I came here to Oxford, liked the community, and it slowly worked out and started to grow,” said Thompson. “House Counseling has grown because we are a really good team and we all do different things. We will be in Oxford forever.”
Mayor Alton Craft and State Senator Keith Kelley were present to celebrate the opening and commend House Counseling’s contributions to community wellness.
“The growth that you are having is a testament to the success you are having helping people,” said Mayor Craft. “That’s the business we should all be in.”
Senator Kelley added, “Helping each other is what God puts us here for. What you do makes our community stronger.”
House Counseling is currently accepting new patients. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information is available at house-counseling.com or by calling 256-342-6107.
