Crash Closes Portion of U.S. 278 in Calhoun County

CALHOUN COUNTY, AL – A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:06 a.m. on Friday, June 13, has resulted in the closure of a portion of U.S. Highway 278 near Big Shoals Road.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the road is currently blocked and will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time as authorities investigate the scene. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division responded promptly and are continuing to monitor the situation.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until further notice. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
