City of Anniston Temporarily Suspends Animal Control Vouchers Due to Full Shelter Capacity

ANNISTON, AL – As of June 27, 2025, the City of Anniston has announced a temporary pause in the issuance of animal control vouchers. These vouchers, which allow residents to surrender animals to shelters at no cost, are being suspended due to local shelters reaching full capacity.

City officials acknowledged the potential inconvenience this may cause and expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding and patience. The announcement emphasized that this decision was made in coordination with local partners to ensure responsible management of animal welfare services.
