Oxford, AL – Gadsden State Community College has announced a new partnership with Word Alive International Outreach and 7 Springs Ministries to support individuals in recovery through education and job training. The initiative aims to equip participants with the skills and resources necessary for successful reintegration into society and the workforce.
The collaboration will provide adult education classes, vocational training, and job placement services tailored for those in recovery. The program emphasizes not only academic and career development but also personal growth.
“We believe that education is a powerful tool for change,” said Kent Mattox, Founding Pastor at Word Alive International Outreach. “By working together, we can provide meaningful opportunities for individuals in recovery to build a better future for themselves and their families.”
Daniel Hughes, Founder of 7 Springs Ministries, added, “Recovery is more than breaking free from addiction—it’s about rebuilding a life of purpose and restoring hope. This partnership empowers our students with access to education and career pathways that reinforce lasting transformation.”
Gadsden State Interim President Alan Smith expressed his support for the collaboration. “Education is essential for personal and professional success. We are eager to provide workforce training and educational opportunities while supporting Word Alive and 7 Springs Ministries.”
The initiative will launch with an informational event on Tuesday, July 9 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary of Word Alive International Outreach, located at 122 Allendale Rd, Oxford, AL. The event is open to the public and will offer attendees an opportunity to learn more about available programs and meet the partnering teams.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping individuals affected by addiction rebuild their lives through education, community support, and access to career pathways.
