Anniston, AL – The Public Library of Anniston and Calhoun County will host a special event on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. featuring Beth Hunter, who will present “Alabama Quilts and Their Stories.” The event will be held at the library, located at 108 E 10th Street in Anniston.
Hunter, known for her passion for quilting and storytelling, will explore the rich tradition of quilting in Alabama. Her presentation will showcase how quilts—both antique and modern—reflect the diverse history, culture, and communities of the state. Each quilt tells a unique story, offering insight into the individuals, families, and regions that created them.
Through a combination of visuals and narrative, attendees can expect a thoughtful look at the ways quilts have served not only as practical household items but also as artistic expressions and historical records.
The event is free and open to the public. It is part of the library’s ongoing efforts to provide educational and cultural programming for the community.
