Anniston, AL – The Anniston Runners Club, in partnership with local organizer Hayley H. Long, will host the 13th annual Remembrance Run on Saturday, July 26, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Anniston High School. This free, community-centered event brings together participants to run or walk in memory of individuals who have passed away over the past year.
Held each year on the Saturday preceding the Woodstock 5K, the Remembrance Run serves as both a tribute and a unifying moment for the local running community. Runners will wear commemorative bibs to honor lost loved ones, friends, and community members. This year’s event will feature a special tribute to Chief Jeff Waldrep of the Anniston Fire Department, who was widely respected for his dedication to public service.
Following the run, volunteers will gather to clean the race course in preparation for the upcoming RRCA National 5K Championship, reinforcing the community’s commitment to honoring the past while investing in the future.
Participation is open to all, and no registration is required.
