ANNISTON, AL – The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is advising motorists to use caution along McClellan Boulevard (AL-21) as construction continues at the Summerall Subdivision development site. During active work hours, one lane of McClellan Boulevard may be closed to allow crews to safely complete infrastructure improvements. Drivers should expect possible delays and plan accordingly when traveling through the area.
In addition to road work, visible progress is taking shape within the Summerall Subdivision. The corridor will soon welcome a new Starbucks location and a second Anniston-based Mavis Tires, adding to the growing list of commercial opportunities along one of the city’s busiest roadways.
The development spans approximately 38 acres of prime city-owned land, strategically located with frontage and visibility along McClellan Boulevard, which has an average annual daily traffic (AADT) count of 24,900 vehicles. Neighboring businesses include Walmart, ALDI, and Lowe’s, reinforcing the area’s position as a major retail and commercial hub.
Key development highlights include infrastructure upgrades currently underway, subdividable parcels available for future projects, and high-visibility frontage designed to attract additional growth. City officials and developers anticipate that the subdivision will play a central role in Anniston’s expanding retail and dining landscape.
