ANNISTON, AL – The Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will hold a public meeting on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. to provide updates to the county’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. The meeting will take place at Eastman Chemical Company, 702 Clydesdale Ave., Anniston, AL 36201.
The session is open to all sectors of the community, including public and private organizations, non-profits, elected officials, school boards, fire departments, and other agencies. Participation in the Hazard Mitigation program is a required step for entities that may need to apply for funding in the event of a disaster.
The Hazard Mitigation Plan serves as a critical tool in reducing risks from natural and man-made hazards while ensuring that Calhoun County remains eligible for certain federal disaster assistance programs.
The EMA encourages broad participation to ensure the plan reflects the needs and priorities of the entire county.
