Registration Still Open for Mountain Bike and Trail Run Competitors
ANNISTON, AL — There’s a growing buzz in the hills just west of downtown Anniston as the city prepares to welcome athletes from across the country for the inaugural Life Time Coldwater Trail MTB & Run presented by Sunny King Auto, taking place Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25.
Coldwater Mountain, long celebrated as a regional favorite for hikers and bikers, will now take the national stage as participants from more than 35 states and Canada converge on Anniston to compete in 50K and 100K mountain bike races, along with 15K and 50K trail runs.
The two-day event will feature more than just races. Attendees can enjoy a sponsor and vendor expo, sunset shakeout rides and runs, a race festival, and a post-race block party complete with live music and local flavor.
For many athletes, this will be their first visit to Anniston — and to the rugged beauty of Alabama’s Appalachian foothills. Coldwater’s winding singletrack trails, expertly developed and maintained over years of local investment, are quickly earning recognition among the nation’s premier destinations for outdoor recreation.
Some competitors are chasing a challenge — and a qualifying spot for the Leadville Trail 100 MTB or Run. Others simply want to experience the trails that are helping to redefine Anniston as an outdoor adventure hub.
With just three weeks remaining before the starting line, registration remains open for all events. Those seeking the ultimate endurance test can take on the Dead Legs Challenge, completing both the 50K trail run and 100K mountain bike race for unmatched bragging rights.
