OXFORD, AL — Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. marked a significant milestone this week with the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new First Haven Cabinetry facility in the Oxford West Industrial Park. The $28 million investment spans 250,000 square feet and currently employs 85 people, with plans to create over 400 new jobsas operations expand. Once fully operational, the facility is projected to produce approximately 2,000 cabinets per day, further strengthening the region’s manufacturing economy.

Paul Wellborn, president and chairman of the board, reflected on the company’s journey and its strong foundation in family and faith. “What makes the struggles a lot easier is having good people around you,” Wellborn said. “I thank God for the people who have made this company what it is. It all comes from Him.”
The First Haven line will focus on laminated, value-driven cabinetry designed for the entry-level remodeling and new construction markets, serving kitchens and bathrooms across the nation.
Oxford Mayor Alton Craft praised the project as a major accomplishment for the community. “This is a big day for Oxford,” Craft said. “I have been impressed by Wellborn’s involvement in their hometown of Ashland, Alabama, and decided these are the type of people we want in our community.” He credited the Calhoun County Economic Development Council (EDC) for their proactive efforts in securing the project, adding, “All credit to Don and the EDC, who kept their ears to the ground and acted quickly when the opportunity arose.”
Calhoun County EDC Executive Director Don Hopper expressed pride in the collaboration that led to the facility’s location. “The company was being heavily recruited while searching for a new location, but through strong partnerships and proactive engagement, we were able to showcase why this area was the right choice,” Hopper said. EDC Chairman Larry Deason added that Wellborn’s arrival reflects the kind of sustainable investment that promotes “opportunity, innovation, and prosperity across our region.”
With its focus on quality craftsmanship, sustainability, and American-made materials, Wellborn Cabinet’s First Haven Cabinetry facility stands as a new cornerstone for manufacturing excellence and economic development in Northeast Alabama.
