Gadsden, AL – Gadsden State Community College is hosting a series of free public events in October, highlighted by its popular Candy with the Cardinals celebration.
The main event is set for Monday, Oct. 21, 3–6 p.m., on the Wallace Drive Campus Quad. Families can expect games, crafts, face painting, candy, and live music from the Gadsden State Show Band. Attendees will also have the chance to meet student-athletes and learn about academic programs with help from on-site enrollment specialists.
“This event is perfect for families and community members who want to enjoy a variety of games, arts and entertainment in a safe and festive environment,” said Lynn Patterson, director of Student Activities.

Oct. 17, 3–7 p.m. — Candy with the Cardinals (Ayers Campus, Cheaha Career Center lawn): games, prizes, candy, and face painting.

Oct. 21, 3–6 p.m. — Main Event (Wallace Drive Campus Quad): games, crafts, face painting, candy, and live music by the Gadsden State Show Band; meet student-athletes; program info and enrollment support.

Oct. 24, 4:30–6:30 p.m. — Trunk or Treat (Cherokee Campus, Academic Building parking lot): games, candy, face painting, and photos with mascot “Swoop.”
All events are free and open to the public.
