“The nature and severity of the offenses of which [Williams] was found guilty compels the Court to impose a sentence commiserate with the heinousness of the crime and in compliance with the law,” Judge Robinson stated during sentencing.

Under Alabama law, individuals convicted of sexual offenses involving children under 12 are ineligible for probation, parole, Community Corrections, good time credits, or any early release programs.

And I hope that the Court, by issuing this sentence, demonstrates that those who prey on and abuse children in Etowah County will be punished to the maximum extent allowed by the law.”

The Etowah County District Attorney’s Office acknowledged the victim and her family, along with investigators from the Rainbow City Police Department, the James M. Barrie Center, and the Department of Human Resources for their roles in the case.
