Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston, in partnership with its recreation centers and the Wiggins Community Center, has announced a full schedule of activities for Spring Break 2026, offering a variety of programs for youth and families from March 23 through March 27.
The weeklong event will take place across multiple community centers throughout the city, providing opportunities for recreation, social engagement, and structured activities during the school break.
Weekly Activity Schedule
Activities will begin on Monday, March 23, at the Carver Community Center, located at 720 W. 14th Street. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will include games, crafts, and general recreational activities.
On Tuesday, March 24, all recreation centers in Anniston will host a Center Free Play Day from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Participants will have access to open gym time and a range of unstructured recreational options.
Midweek activities will continue on Wednesday, March 25, at the South Highland Community Center, located at 229 S. Allen Avenue. Programming will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will feature additional games and activities.
Thursday, March 26, will include another Center Free Play Day across all recreation centers from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The week will conclude on Friday, March 27, at the Hodges Community Center, located at 3125 Spring Valley Road, with activities scheduled from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Additional Programming at Wiggins Community Center
In addition to the primary schedule, the Wiggins Community Center will host extended programming on Monday and Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Monday’s activities will include Canadian Arena Football, trivia, indoor soccer, and other recreational games. On Tuesday, programming will feature community bingo, indoor soccer, and an introduction to baseball through wiffle ball activities.
Community Engagement Focus
City officials have structured the Spring Break program to provide safe, accessible, and engaging opportunities for local youth during the school holiday. By utilizing multiple community centers, the initiative aims to reach a broad audience across Anniston and encourage participation in organized recreational activities.
Residents are encouraged to attend events throughout the week and take advantage of the variety of programming offered at different locations.
