Anniston, AL – City officials have announced schedule changes for two upcoming outdoor recreation events, giving residents more opportunities to participate in National Trails Day activities later this spring.
The City of Anniston has adjusted the dates for both the grand opening of the Chalk Line Pump Track and the annual Mayor’s Ride, encouraging community members to take part in the updated events.
Chalk Line Pump Track Grand Opening
The grand opening of the Chalk Line Pump Track is now set for Monday, March 30 at 4:00 p.m. City leadership will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially unveil the new outdoor recreation feature.
Following the ceremony, the pump track will open to the public. Residents are invited to bring bicycles and enjoy the facility with family and friends as part of the launch celebration.
The addition of the pump track reflects ongoing efforts to expand outdoor recreation opportunities in Anniston.
Mayor’s Ride Rescheduled for April
The Mayor’s Ride has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 9:00 a.m. The community bike ride will be led by Mayor Ciara Smith-Roston and is open to participants of all ages and skill levels.
The route will begin at Wig’s Wheels, travel through downtown Anniston, and connect to the Chief Ladiga Trail. Riders will continue to Michael Tucker Park before returning to the starting point.
Participants who wish to extend their ride are encouraged to continue toward Piedmont, where Trails Festival events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
City officials noted that the updated schedule is intended to better align with broader National Trails Day celebrations in April, allowing more residents to take advantage of local and regional outdoor activities.
Both events highlight Anniston’s continued investment in recreational infrastructure and community-focused programming.
