OXFORD, AL — Oxford Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations for “Junk Journal Night,” a hands-on creative event scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oxford Civic Center.
The program introduces participants to the art of junk journaling, a form of personal storytelling that transforms everyday and discarded items into meaningful keepsakes. By combining elements of scrapbooking, collage, recycling, and journaling, attendees will create layered pages using decorative papers, stickers, magazine clippings, and other materials.
The event is open to individuals ages 12 and up and is designed to accommodate beginners, experienced crafters, and journal enthusiasts alike. A $5 registration fee covers all supplies, including a starter journal, decorative papers, Washi tape, stickers, embellishments, glue, scissors, and other craft tools. Participants are also encouraged to bring personal mementos to incorporate into their journals.
Pre-registration is required and must be completed online until all spots are filled, through the City of Oxford’s website or Parks and Recreation social media pages.
