Marshall joined a coalition of Republican attorneys general in signing a joint statement emphasizing the necessity of strong border security and applauding Trump’s leadership in addressing the immigration crisis.

“Over the last four years, my colleagues and I have seen the rapid deterioration at the border which required us to step in with legal action. Our coalition is immensely grateful for President Trump’s dedication to securing our borders and reversing the failed policies of the Biden Administration that led to unprecedented levels of illegal immigration,” said Marshall. “President Trump’s America First policies will once again ensure the safety and security of our nation.”

The joint statement criticizes what it describes as the Biden Administration’s weakening of border controls through executive actions and outlines the legal measures Republican attorneys general have taken in response. These include court challenges to policies that allegedly encouraged illegal immigration and securing injunctions to uphold federal immigration laws.

The statement also highlights key elements of Trump’s proposed immigration plan, including:

  • Completing the border wall to mitigate the southern border crisis.
  • Addressing immigration parole abuses and reevaluating birthright citizenship.
  • Rescinding programs such as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
  • Strengthening state and local collaboration through Section 287(g) agreements.

Marshall praised the outcomes of Trump’s previous immigration policies, asserting that they led to historic lows in illegal immigration. “President Trump’s policies resulted in historic lows in illegal immigration during his first term, and his victory in November shows that Americans trust him to restore order at the border,” said Marshall.

Joining Marshall in signing the statement are attorneys general from 20 states, including Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill. The coalition pledged its continued support for Trump’s immigration agenda, emphasizing their commitment to securing the border and ensuring adherence to the rule of law.
