“October Beef Month is an opportunity to celebrate Alabama’s cattle industry and the hardworking farm families behind the beef we enjoy,” ACA Chief Executive Officer Erin Beasley said. “From tailgating to fall festivals to meals around the family table, we encourage Alabama’s consumers to celebrate beef by including it in your October meal planning.”

Promotional efforts are planned at events including Talladega Superspeedway and the Alabama National Fair. The association’s digital campaigns will also direct consumers to BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com for recipes and information about beef.

County cattlemen’s associations are expected to participate in activities across the state. Local efforts may include classroom visits through the “Cowboys in the Classroom” program, steak sandwich sales, media appearances, youth livestock exhibitions, field days, service projects and beef promotions at fairs and community events.

The association is also using the month to promote beef for fall meals, including grilling during football season and dishes such as roasts and soups.

According to information provided by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, cattle production is Alabama’s second-largest animal agriculture sector and has an estimated $2.4 billion economic impact across the state’s 67 counties. The association also reports that beef production supports more than 10,000 jobs in Alabama.
