Alexander, Latson star as surging Oxford’s boys put on a dunking, shooting show on second night of Larry & Connie Davidson Classic.

OXFORD — Maybe it was Jalen Alexander’s string of four 3-pointers in the second and third quarters, or Chris Latson’s four dunks Saturday.

Well, five dunks, if one counts the one disallowed for offensive goal tending.

Maybe it was the way reserve Kamarion Burton’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer sparked Oxford’s bench to charge the floor, as if he’d just clinched the Yellow Jackets a Final Four berth.

As it was, Oxford’s 74-54 rout of Hiram (Ga.) in the Larry & Connie Davidson Classic finale was just a game in December, a developmental step.

Oxford’s fourth consecutive victory says the Yellow Jackets (7-3) are developing.
