October is parent involvement month for Kitty Stone Elementary School, and one of many activities is the Enchanted Evening of Reading. If you have a child attending Kitty Stone then you are probably already aware of the massive undertaking for this event. The students, teachers, and parent volunteers have really outdone themselves with this elaborately decorated event all to inspire reading for the students of Kitty Stone.

On October 22nd, beginning at 5:30 pm you are invited to immerse yourselves into a true Fairy Tale. Each grade has been challenged to decorate their hall in a Fairy Tale theme. From an under the sea, to the enchanted forest, to Hansel and Gretel the imagination of the children and teachers will transport you to a reading filled adventure.  The Jacksonville High School drama club will also be participating in various Fairy Tale rolls.

This whole night was presented as a challenge to the teachers with the winners earning a duty free lunch catered by Moe’s. One of the judges will be Principal Rhonda Tinker who stated she dreads having to judge between the great efforts. Regardless of the grade that wins, the students certainly will be the real winners.

If you are interested in attending, registration forms went out in Wednesday folders with the kids and are also available at the front office or in downloadable format at the school’s website. Teachers are asking that all forms be submitted to the school by Friday the 12th, The LAST DAY to register would be at the Family Book Fair Night on October 15th. This a free event with lots of fun activities for parents, grandparents, and extended family, but the school must know the number attending to have enough materials prepared.

All photos are simply to show the work in progress.  To see the final versions please consider coming out for this free family event.
