PIEDMONT, AL — Animal Advocates for Calhoun County (AACC) is offering a free opportunity for pet owners to protect their furry companions. The group will host a Free Microchipping Event on Saturday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pinhoti Pizza Company, located at 107 S. Main Street in Piedmont.
During the three-hour event, pet owners can bring their dogs and cats to be microchipped at no cost. Volunteers will also assist participants with registering their pet’s microchip on their phones, ensuring a simple and quick process.
Microchipping provides pets with a permanent form of identification, significantly increasing the chances of reuniting lost animals with their families. Advocates emphasize that the practice is an effective and reliable tool in keeping pets safe.
The event highlights AACC’s commitment to animal welfare and community support, while also bringing together local residents at a welcoming venue in downtown Piedmont.
