OXFORD, AL – The Oxford Performing Arts Center (OPAC) will host Austen’s Pride: A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice on Sunday, September 21, at 7 p.m. The production is part of the NobleBank & Trust Broadway Series, bringing celebrated performances to East Alabama.
The musical offers a reimagined take on Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice. In this adaptation, Austen herself steps into the story, embarking on a journey of self-discovery as she observes the romance between Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy unfold in new and unexpected ways.
Through original music and a fresh narrative structure, Austen’s Pride explores the blurred lines between fiction and reality, allowing Austen to interact with the very characters she created.
