Anniston Police Department Appeals to Public for Assistance in Child Hit-and-Run Incident

Anniston, AL – The Anniston Police Department is seeking the community’s help in resolving a hit-and-run accident that left a young child injured. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 16th, in the 2500 block of McDaniel Avenue, where a vehicle struck a 4-year-old pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

According to reports, the vehicle involved in the accident is described as a blue 2-door Hyundai coupe. The driver, identified as a heavyset black female, failed to stop after the collision, leaving the child with injuries.

In light of the severity of the incident and the need for swift action, the Anniston Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the accident to come forward. Public cooperation is crucial in identifying and apprehending the responsible party.

“We are reaching out to the public for their assistance in this matter,” stated a spokesperson from the Anniston Police Department. “Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove invaluable in our investigation.”
