As the nation prepares to commemorate Veterans Day, Anniston is gearing up for a series of events that honor the dedication and sacrifice of its local heroes.

Centennial Memorial Park, officially designated as Alabama’s Veteran’s Memorial in 1999, stands as a solemn tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their nation. This Veterans Day ceremony at Centennial Park is a heartfelt occasion that will feature esteemed speakers and dignitaries, coming together to commemorate and recognize the invaluable service of our veterans.

023 Calhoun County Veterans Day Parade
– Date: Saturday, November 11, 2023
– Time: Starting at 2:00 PM CT
– Route: Noble Street, from 17th Street to 9th Street

The Calhoun County Veterans Day Parade is a grand celebration of our veterans, taking place on the historic streets of Anniston. Noble Street will be closed from 17th Street to 9th Street, as the parade kicks off at 15th and Noble, concluding at 9th and Noble. This year’s Grand Marshal is none other than Anniston City Manager, Steven D. Folks, Sr., a distinguished veteran with 21 years of service in the U.S. Army. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department Color Guard Team will lead the parade, pausing at the Reviewing Stand for the National Anthem.
