Anniston Transit Alert

Anniston, AL – Please be aware, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has begun shot rock treatments on the southbound, right-hand lane of US Highway 431 (the bypass), from its intersection with Iron Mountain Road up to its intersection with Henry Road.

This process involves applying gravel to the road, thus be aware of loose #Gravel when traveling the highway. ALDOT states this process should take another week to complete, and ALDOT will be on-site daily to sweep the road clear of any loose gravel.
Once the shot rock treatment is complete, ALDOT will periodically sweep the road as loose gravel is generated by vehicles. This is meant to be a long term solution, and at this time ALDOT does not have a determined timeframe for when the road will be resurfaced.

If any one has any issues, questions, or comments regarding this work, please contact the ALDOT district office at: 256-820-3131.
Any Damage to vehicles from loose gravel should be reported to ALDOT. If damage occurs, a Claim may be filed using this form: https://www.dot.state.al.us/…/pdf/propertydamageclaim.pdf
