Anniston, AL – At a special called meeting on Thursday, December 12, the City of Anniston proudly welcomed its newest member of the City Council, Councilman Lewis Downing, who will represent Ward One.
Councilman Downing, a respected leader in the community, brings over 15 years of experience in business management and community development to the position. As the owner of Downing & Sons, a family-run business he has helped grow significantly since taking ownership in 2017, Downing has demonstrated expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership. His efforts have not only bolstered his business but also contributed to the broader economic and community growth in Anniston.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Councilman Downing has a long-standing commitment to improving Anniston. He has served in leadership roles in various local organizations, including:
