Participants will build and take home a nesting box designed for a screech owl or kestrel. Organizers note that these boxes can help provide safe nesting habitats for birds of prey, which play an important role in local ecosystems.

The cost to participate is $25 per person, and space is limited to the first 20 paid participants. Attendees are encouraged to bring a cordless drill if they have one available.

Registration may be completed in person or by mail through the Calhoun County Extension Office at 1702 Noble St., Suite 108, Anniston, AL 36201. Cash or checks made payable to the Calhoun County Beautification Board will be accepted.

For additional information, residents may call 256-237-1621.

The workshop aims to provide a hands-on educational opportunity while promoting conservation and awareness of native bird species in Calhoun County.
