OXFORD — Baseball and softball athletes highlighted the first of two signing celebration ceremonies at Oxford High School on Thursday.
Haleigh Pruitt, Rocco Maniscalco, Marcus Lawler, Zakaree Newton and Canaan Whitman all had their time to talk and do mock signings after having previously signed: Pruitt with Snead State Community College, Lawler with Chipola College, Maniscalco with Mississippi State, Newton with Huntingdon College and Whitman with Huntingdon College.

Oxford’s Jenkins, Mims take different routes to chances to play football in college, Jenkins at Kentucky Wesleyan and Mims at Tennessee Valley.
Football took center stage in the second of Oxford’s Thursday signing celebration ceremonies.
Quarterback Caleb Jenkins celebrated his signing with Kentucky Wesleyan, a Division II school in Owensboro. Mims, a lineman, will play for a new program at Tennessee Valley Community Christian College in Huntsville.
