Anniston, AL – The Calhoun County Commission met Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to address a full agenda that included nuisance property actions, resolutions, contracts, and special recognitions.
The meeting opened with the call to order, invocation, and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a proclamation honoring the Pleasant Valley High School Volleyball Team. The team received certificates recognizing their achievement of winning the state championship for three consecutive years.
During Old Business, commissioners addressed multiple nuisance abatements and dismissals involving properties in Anniston, Ohatchee, Piedmont, Jacksonville, and Weaver. The commission also reviewed and approved invoices related to nuisance cleanups totaling several hundred dollars per property.
Under New Business, the commission considered:

Board appointments were also addressed for the Calhoun County Community Punishment and Corrections Authority, with Commissioner Danny Shears and Amanda Young named to the board.
