Oxford, AL – The Oxford Performing Arts Center will host a four-day series of free Christmas movie screenings from December 21–24, 2025, inviting families and community members to enjoy classic holiday films on the big screen at no cost.
The event will feature four beloved Christmas movies, each shown twice daily at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All 4:00 p.m. matinee showings will include captioning for accessibility. Concessions, including popcorn, candy, and drinks, will be available for purchase at standard pricing.
The movie lineup begins Saturday, December 21, with It’s a Wonderful Life, presented by Gene and Mary Rhodes. The Frank Capra classic follows George Bailey’s heartwarming journey through Bedford Falls and remains a holiday favorite that highlights the lasting impact one life can make.
On Sunday, December 22, audiences can enjoy Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, presented by RMC Regional Medical Center. The colorful and whimsical film tells the story of the Grinch’s transformation and the true meaning of Christmas, making it a popular choice for families with children.
The series continues Monday, December 23, with Elf, also presented by RMC Regional Medical Center. The comedy follows Buddy the Elf as he travels from the North Pole to New York City, delivering laughs and holiday cheer for viewers of all ages.
The final screening takes place Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve), featuring Christmas Vacation, presented by Chuck and Leigh Ann Keith. The holiday comedy centers on the Griswold family’s chaotic celebrations and has become a staple of Christmas viewing for many families.
The free movie series will take place at the Oxford Performing Arts Center, located at 100 E. Choccolocco Street in Oxford, with events running nightly from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early to secure seating and enjoy the full theater experience.
