ANNISTON, AL – The Calhoun County Democratic Committee will pay tribute to the life and legacy of the late Congressman John Lewis during its upcoming “Meet & Mingle” event on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The gathering will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the committee’s headquarters, located at 812 Noble Street in downtown Anniston.
The event coincides with the group’s regularly scheduled meeting and is designed as a casual opportunity for community members to come together, reflect on the contributions of Congressman Lewis, and engage with others in the local Democratic community.
Light refreshments will be available, including finger foods, chips and dip, appetizers, sweets, and beverages. Attendees are welcome to bring a dish or snack to share if they wish.
Congressman John Lewis, a longtime civil rights leader and representative from Georgia, was known for his advocacy for voting rights and social justice. Organizers say the event is a way to recognize his enduring influence and commitment to public service.
