The AHSAA soccer playoffs start Monday, and Calhoun County has a new player in the game.
White Plains’ new girls’ program made the field in the Wildcats’ inaugural season. They finished as Class 4A, Area 5 runner up and will play Area 6 winner Westbrook Christian on the road Tuesday.
White Plains, which had girls on the boys’ team until this season, finished the regular season 4-8 on the girls’ side. Lorali McKenzie has a team-high 16 goals.
White Plains’ boys (10-4) won Area 5 and will play host to Cherokee County on Monday. Gleymar Perez leads the Wildcats with 23 goals.
